Don't Default to "How Do You Want to Do This?" - D&D 5e DM Advice
Oct 2, 2022
A common practice of Dungeon Masters is to pass the talking stick to a player who lands a killing blow against a monster. This is especially common when the monster is a boss monster or otherwise important enemy. This practice was assumed by me to be appreciated by all players, but it turns out I was wrong.
While I gather many #DND players will enjoy their own narration of their killing blows, others gladly play without it. This article communicates what I learned about player psychologies and tastes, particularly how they differ from mine. #DND5e #DungeonsAndDragons
